Greetings techies.

A few weeks ago, I set up a Tekkit server, which have behaved excellent, until I logged in today.

Last night, I set up two quarries (each digging a 64x64 area), right next to each other, and piping it back to my basement. I continued to play a few hours after I set them up, and experienced no lag at all.

Now tho, even the redstone engines in my basement aren't moving.

The hardware I'm using is as follows:

Intel i7 950 3.06 GHz

8GB RAM 1600 MHz (4GB allocated to the server)

nVidia GTX 295

Asus P6T V2 Deluxe

Is it simply my hardware that's not up to par?

(sorry if my English is bad)

Hit your F3 button and switch to debug view. In the upper left corner you can see something like "E: ###/###" (# being numbers). If the numbers get too big it means that there could be too many items within viewing range. This might happen if your quarries filled up all the chests they were hooked up to and are now spitting the items onto the ground (Buildcraft pipes tend to do that).

Only possible solution: Move out of viewing range of the items. Craft some chests, go back and lag your way to the filled up chests. Place new chests and fill them up with the items on the ground.

PS: this is just a wild guess. Screenshots would help ;)

you will get horrible lag if chest become full and quarries overflow

if you have worldguard or nolagg or something similar try the command that will remove all entities

Thanks for the replies, sorry for my late reply. No chests was full, all ores are sent to different macerators and furnaces (1 for each ore), gems (redstone, nikolite etc.) are sent to a crystal chest, which is was about half full, all the rest was sent into an energy condenser to slowly produce diamonds. I did however find stacks upon stacks of dirt, cobblestone and sand randomly lying beneath the pipe here and there when I was lagging my way back to the quarries to shut them down. Overflow in the pipe, if that is possible?

What I ended up doing was removing them, and setting up a 32x32 grid on both quarries, which works just fine, I get no lag with this setup, neither any stacks of random shizzle under the pipe.

I finally cleaned up a similar problem last night. My tubes didn't overflow, but a hundred or so crystal chests full of stuff is just as bad. I should have probably designed the storage output system before filling that many chests.
