Description of Problem:

Computers even when running an active program, shut off when I leave the server. Is there a fix?

The chunk gets unloaded when you leave the server. You could try using a chunk loading block (there are several available now) or if you don't mind if the computer does nothing while you're gone, save your program as "startup". It will executed as soon as the computer gets loaded again...
