Gigawatz Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Ok, so I'm trying to build a modpack for my friends and I. And I've got a GIST of how it works, but I'm having some issues. I'm not going to sit here and ask you to make a modpack for me, but is there any way of obtaining the basic components like modpack.jar and NEI configs preset, just so I can put all the mods I want to add in one folder, zip it, and share to technic? I'd need it for 1.7.10 . Can anyone help?
EvilOwl Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 modpack.jar is just a renamed Forge universal jar file, use this one. All default config files are generated when you run your modpack locally for the first time. Gigawatz 1
Gigawatz Posted September 25, 2015 Author Posted September 25, 2015 That's all it takes? thanks I'll see if this works! So wait, should I just run it with only the modpack.jar , or should I put all the mods in the mods folder first?
EvilOwl Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Do it like this: download this modpack with your launcher http://api.technicpack.net/modpack/simply-forge-pack drop your mods in the mods directory inside .technic/modpacks/simply-forge-pack/ run the modpack close it Now you have the default config files ready in .technic/modpacks/simply-forge-pack/config Make 3 directories: bin, mods and config place Forge universal jar renamed to modpack.jar in bin place your mods in mods place your config files in config select all 3 directories and zip them together into a file called "mypack1.0.zip" upload it to a platform supporting direct download links, copy the direct link from there (check on a different pc or in a different browser if the file is accessible) go to the platform, make a modpack, insert the direct link, hit Update, set the version as needed (1.0 in this case) Gigawatz 1
EvilOwl Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Open the launcher and copy that link to the search box...
EvilOwl Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 There's is a flaw in my tutorial. That modpack's recommended version is set to minecraft 1.8. You need to change that to a 1.7.10 version.
