Graphical Issues with Ubuntu

Title: Graphical Issues with Ubuntu

OS: Ubuntu 12.04

Java Version: OpenJDK Java 6

Description of Problem:

When Tekkit is run, the tileset graphics appear on the character and entity graphics, the right arm of the character also does not appear in 1st and both 3rd person modes. The Tekkit version is installed from the launcher with no added mods.

Install OptiFine Standard instead of whatever comes with Tekkit by default. The default works with most systems, but not all.

Do i place this into the Mods folder in the tekkit area or install it onto the minecraft.jar?

Never install anything into the minecraft.jar - any mods (like OptiFine) that would normally go there go in modpack.jar, instead.

Ah ok, i wasn't sure where to find Optifine as it wasn't one of the mods in the mod folder, i've done as you suggested and it appears to have worked, at least my character has two arms and the sheep are no longer on fire. Thanks for the help =)

This amused me more than it should have. When in doubt, don't set your sheep on fire. Unlike some other animals, they don't drop cooked meat.
