Linux Installation

Are there installation instructions for Linux? I am running a Suse 11.3 server. I have searched the formus and the questions but I have not found instructions for installing the server.

Can the Technic server be running next to a minecraft server or do they both use the same ports?

You can specify the port that you want each one to run on in the server.properties file.

you want to be running a tekkit server, technic is Single player so lets start there..

Install java 7... you might need to up date your repositories... theres alot.. i might consider making a guide.

I have been trying to install java 7. Using the java web site (www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp#lin) to run the RPM package. The RPM says it finishes but when I look the log file it says it can not find some of the packages. Yast does not show any new versions of java beyond 1.6

When I check my version "java --version" it returns 1.6.0_22.

I downloaded the tar file from java.com but the file is not a installer. I used update-alternatives --config java but it stated there are no alternatives.

I am at a bit of a loss right now.

I have an Ubuntu Server, so I don't know if it's much different to Suse or not.
