Nether Ore Will not Smelt

I don't get the hissing sound before the ores blow either. I know that is a known bug on their end. But I can't smelt them in the nether, using coke coal or any type of oven (electric or regular).

It just doesn't work.

This was a standard install, no additional mods, was a brand new map with the seed "gimmeabreak". It is the latest version of Tekkit on both server and client. I installed from the 1.14.

Also I noticed a lot of the railcraft recipes do not work or work but cannot be placed. For example the signal lamp I can make it but I can't place it anywhere. I see from the list of mods that railcraft is quite a few versions behind. They have an SMP update that is version 3 - is it ok to update this?

put them in your crafting box and turn them into normal ores. Or, y'know, read around a little.

Thanks I haven't used nether ores in a long time I thought you had to smelt them.

As for railcraft.. is it ok to update to V3 ?
