Title: Mods not loading

Version: 3.1.2

OS: windows xp

Java Version: 7u5

Description of Problem:

my tekkit has no mods when i run the game. it says only 4 mods loaded on the title screen and i can't join servers because it says "the server requires you have the following mods:" and it lists every mod in tekkit.

i KNOW its nothing to do with my antivirus because i removed it and tried again and it didn't work. and also, all of the mods are in the mods folder inside my .techniclauncher! it just seems that i need to activate the mods or load them or something. please help!

i tried redownloading my technic launcher to see if that would help but now it says

"unable to find version of runtime to run this application"

That generally means you needs to install the .NET Framework. Do you have it installed, and if so, which versions?

I'm having a similar problem with not being able to connect to a server due to a list of mods being missing. I keep trying to get it to update by switching to the recommended build, but it doesn't seem to pick up the necessary mods.

Also on my console log it keeps repeating the message "repair is active" every second.

Tekkit: 3.1.2

How many mods? All of them, or less than 10? If it's less than 10, that's a version mismatch. If it's all of them, you have a download and install issue somewhere.

The "repair is active" message comes from a Talisman of Repair sitting on a Dark Matter Pedestal somewhere. Just remove it to stop the console spam.

Ones that it says are missing:

CraftingTable3, ImmibisCore, IC2, NuclearControl, Tubestuff, Railcraft, EE, Ironchest, Compact Solars.

Also, what are some good ways to force your launcher to update to a current version, I tried manually selecting it and alternating between recommended and dev versions, is there any other options.

Thanks for your help, and I'll be sure to fix that "repair is active" problem as soon as I can get in (thanks for that tip by the way).

If it's IC2 1.95, the server's still running 3.0.4 (matching client is 3.0.3). You can either downgrade your client (I would back up your waypoints, delete the entire client-side tekkit folder, manual-select, and let it install), or you can persuade the server to update to 3.1.2, which is probably what you're running.

Version numbers are important when you're listing mods that don't match yours, fyi.

I wouldn't try to always keep the client the most up-to-date with Tekkit, as a lot of servers don't update right away.

Alright, looks like IC2 was 1.95. Which means the server hosting company didn't do their job right when I had them update the client.

Normally I wait until a while after the next update before upgrading the server, but quite a few members were jumping the gun and updating early so I had to update the server side as well.

Thanks for your help torezu, I'd probably still be completely lost without this feedback.
