It's not brain surgery, you just drop it into the mods folder where the minecraft_server.jar is.

And for the client, it also just goes in the mods folder, unzipped.

yea i tried, the server didnt like it and neither did the client

"didn't like it" is not diagnostically relevant. Post a log if you want help finding out what's going wrong.

I do not think there is a bukkit port for server. But client side should be easy
