Failed to dowload, really need help

Launcher Version: Latest

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium

Java Version: Java 7 Update 6 (64 bit)

Antivirus Program: Avast

Description of Problem:

I load up the technic launcher no problem, but when I go to login it will get around 23% and say download failed. So far I have tried deleting my .technic folder, I have also deleted all my av programs and got Avast! I have downloaded the latest Java and made sure I only had one. I'm lost now, I have been looking all day for a fix and finally have given in to asking for help.
