The most common issue I'm seeing with 2.1 install is that it was compiled using java 7 rather than java 6. Most remote hosting sites probably will not have Java 7 running on their systems. I personally use BeastNode.com for mine and know that they don't use 7. All I can recommend for people who wish to use 2.1 is to wait until the dev team writes it up using 6. There's an off chance you might be able to talk to your provider and request 7 be installed on your hosting machine, but lets face it. That is the least likely to happen, if it does it will probably take longer than the dev team.
Be patient and wait to see what the dev's / mod's say on this topic. Also, don't forget to use the new format for posting bugs. Uniformity in organization of presented data is key to a quick resolution.
