Tekkit: Nuclear Reactor Explosions

Hello!

I placed a nuclear reactor, intending for it to explode, however it just caught fire to things and 'broke' itself, and didn't damage the enviroment. Nukes etc. DO work properly - as well as other industrial craft blocks.

Is this a config thing or something else?

You're going to have to be more specific about how you set it up, and how it caught fire and broke itself. Reactors start fires, vaporize nearby water, and place lava source blocks around them as they heat up. It will eventually go critical, unless it finishes off the fuel source and has a chance to cool down first.
