how do i access the jar file?

i want to put in my own custom textures, but i do not currently have them in rar form, i am still creating them, so it would be very annoying to constantly have to create rar files to test out my textures 1 by 1. so is there any way to get to the jar file?and no i am not talking about vanilla minecraft, i know how to get to that jar

If you use 7zip, you can easily put files in and out of the RAR without constantly decompressing and re-compressing the file.
