Minecraft.jar Always fails????

Launcher Version: 1.0.1.3

Operating System: windows 7

Java Version: 32 bit and 64 bit

Antivirus Program: AVG

Description of Problem:

When i download the launcher it goes and at the minecraft.jar part fails all the time and once it got pasted it 100% but at the second thing it stop.

Error Messages:

24% minecraft.jar failed

Out of curiosity, did you disable your antivirus program and try it? OP you mentioned AVG is your antivirus program...in the stickied thread of common issues/resolutions, it mentions that AVG is known to flag the files the launcher downloads If I am not mistaken.
