Have you disabled Norton? it is known to interfere and prevent the download of the launchers files.

Sorry have been without net for a few days... If running the jar doesnt work, you need to tell the computer what program to use when running it... when i right click and select open with, the program shows "Java Platform SE Binary" If this selection isnt available, try running this free program, JARFIX and see if it will allow you to run it http://johann.loefflmann.net/en/software/jarfix/index.html Let me know! (sorry again for delayed reply)

Launcher can't find java directory
Electrobrandino replied to Techn0saurus's question in Technic Launcher
Please dont hijack other peoples threads, especially 2 minutes after creating a thread of your own. Read the common problem thread, as the mod suggested on your other post that was warned on... I get an error that says "Can't find JAVA directory". The cause and solution to this problem is the same as the problem directly above this one. You're most likely using the incorrect bit version of JAVA, or it isn't up to date. Find out if you need the 64 bit version of JAVA and then go to www.technicpack.net and use the JAVA download links. Read further up the list for how to determine the bit version of your OS or JAVA. -

Launcher can't find java directory
Electrobrandino replied to Techn0saurus's question in Technic Launcher
Is your operating system 32bit, or 64bit? the latest version of java is 7u6, so i would recommend uninstalling your current version, and installing the latest version...you wanna make sure though, that if you do have 64bit, you get the 64bit java, or you will have the same issues. also, if you run into issues downloading the modpacks when the launcher does start working, disable norton while you run the launcher...it is known to interfere. -
Hmm..go to http://mirror.technicpack.net/files/technic-launcher-latest.jar and download the latest jar file, drop that on your desktop, and run that and see what happens. Sometimes you have to run it a few times for it to get its act together lol. ALSO, if you find any error logs, post em up

New Tekkit Lets play! Criticism Please <3
Electrobrandino replied to Mobanicman's topic in Let's Play Pavillion
I watched the vid and I think you have some good potential. Just keep doing what you are doing, be yourself, and I think you could go pretty far with it. The more you do it, the more comfortable you will get with it. I actually setup my youtube channel a while back to do some LP's in Tekkit....even made an intro video for my channel from scratch...but never got around to sitting down and getting them recorded....wife and 2 daughters at 25 will do that to ya lol. BTW, to prove my faith, I subbed your channel...Don't let me down! :) -
O.o 5 java you say....lol. what 2 wont uninstall? a pic would work too :P
-
I wouldn't even say you NEED to...more like sometimes you HAVE to. I have seen it work with both installed, but sometimes i believe it still tries to utilize the 32, so removal is a proven method :)
-
That error is related to your java....its likely that you have the 32bit version....best to go in, uninstall the version you currently have, and then go to http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.htm and...

You need to disabled AVG while you run the launcher. AVG is known to interfere with the launchers downloads. If you need help disabling it for the duration of running the launcher, let me know. EDIT: ah just read your post in someone elses thread.... you can try this here http://www.avg.com/ww-en/faq.num-3857 and if that doesnt work, right click it down in the system tray (by the clock) and select disable from there.

Sure thing. You need to open up the file named Options.txt. go to the appdata folder (%appdata%) and it is located at \Roaming\.techniclauncher\tekkit\options.txt. When you open it, it will look similar to this music:0.0 sound:0.0 invertYMouse:false mouseSensitivity:0.5 fov:0.0 gamma:1.0 viewDistance:0 guiScale:0 particles:0 bobView:true anaglyph3d:false advancedOpengl:false fpsLimit:0 difficulty:2 fancyGraphics:true ao:true clouds:true skin:Sphax PureBDCraft 64x Tekkit 3.zip lastServer: lang:en_US key_key.attack:-100 key_key.use:-99 key_key.forward:17 key_key.left:30 key_key.back:31 key_key.right:32 key_key.jump:57 key_key.sneak:42 key_key.drop:16 key_key.inventory:18 key_key.chat:20 key_key.playerlist:15 key_key.pickItem:-98 key_Zoom:29 key_ALT Key:56 key_Boost Key:29 key_Mode Switch Key:50 key_laserKeyBinding:67 key_Open SensorNet:67 key_Charge Item:47 key_Toggle Active:34 key_Extra Function:46 key_Release Charge:19 key_Sort inventory:19 key_key.matmos:65 key_Railcraft Anchor Aura:88 key_Show force-loaded chunks:67 Look for the line that says key_Open SensorNet: and make sure the number that follows that is 67. If it isn't, then change it. If that doesnt work, then backup this file, delete it, and restart the game. Make sense? EDIT: that file defines the keybindings for certain actions. the numbers correspond with different keys. In this case, you probably set the sensornet to the left click, so changing the value here to 67 resets that to the F9 key.

Did you try downloading the Jar file from the website, as opposed to running the one in your .techiclauncher folder? Drop it on your desktop, and run it...sometimes you have to open it a few times for it to kick into gear. http://mirror.technicpack.net/files/technic-launcher-latest.jar I have found this to work on a 32bit machine i helped a friend with.

Launcher not able to allocate more than 1.5GB of RAM
Electrobrandino replied to Matakor's question in Technic Launcher
Haha it usually is the little things that cause the big issues Just go to http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html (direct from the technicpack.net page) and grab the latest 64bit :) -
Launcher not able to allocate more than 1.5GB of RAM
Electrobrandino replied to Matakor's question in Technic Launcher
Make sure you are using 64bit java. if you have the 32, it will only let you allocate that much, and can cause other issues down the road. edit: and I'm assuming you have a 64-bit OS if you have that much memory...if not...then no comment :P -
I havent had too many issues with mods, so never had to really remove them...I would say do a full server backup, remove the mod and test it. as long as you completely back up the servers folder, you really have nothing to lose, just delete it and put the backup copy in its place.
-
Not to my knowledge If you know where ANY of them are, i would start off by going through and deleting those, and see if that fixes it. if it doesnt, then just cruise around a bit and see if you spot any more...

If you just want to delete the trouble force field, you could try opening it in MCEDIT and remove the trouble force field so you can at least log into the world without it crashing constantly. Just an idea

FREEZES AT TECHNIC LAUNCHER LOGO ! PLZ HELP!
Electrobrandino replied to JuuhanTheInsane's question in Technic Launcher
Not really sure what you two are trying to prove? you are just stating exactly the point i was making to the OP...unless you thought I was the OP? lol That is why i copied those sections of the bug report in my post, and bolded the boolean answers...sorry if this caused any confusion OP, give this a shot, and let us know what happens. The launcher freezes on a white screen when I log in. Sometimes the lwjgl (Light Weight Java Games Library) binaries just don't work for everyone. Disable lwjgl by opening the launcher and clicking "Options" above the log in field. Then uncheck "Use latest LWJGL binaries". The latest LWJGL binaries option wasn't/isn't on and I am still getting a white screen. Might be time to post a bug/problem report. But first, try going to .techniclauncher\"modpack name"\bin and open the jinput.jar. (on a mac you may have to rename the .jar to .zip and extract it, then rezip and rename to a .jar after you're done.) Delete Meta-INF. If that doesn't work nuke the .techniclauncher folder and re-download it. -
My Technic Launcher is Not Working :(
Electrobrandino replied to St.Kempy's question in Technic Launcher
Well, AVG has a free version, and a paid version. If it is the free version, it would be very easy to redownload. If it is the paid version, you could stil do it, but it would just be a bit more involved....I have a few other ideas that you can try first though.... Ill send you a message here in just a few with some steps we can try. IF they are successful, we can post back here and update the thread accordingly :P -
My Technic Launcher is Not Working :(
Electrobrandino replied to St.Kempy's question in Technic Launcher
Alright, so have you tried COMPLETELY uninstalling AVG from the PC (just for the duration of running the launcher) and see if it works then? SOMETIMES, AVG will still interfere with the launcher, even when it is just DISABLED. Also, make sure that you dont have any other protection software that may be interfering. -
My Technic Launcher is Not Working :(
Electrobrandino replied to St.Kempy's question in Technic Launcher
So what you are saying is that you have logged onto tekkit/yogbox before while using AVG, and had no issue? Just making sure i understand what you meant lol -
My Technic Launcher is Not Working :(
Electrobrandino replied to St.Kempy's question in Technic Launcher
So did you right click it and run as administrator? if that doesn't do it, you could try uninstalling AVG completely (just to test it) and if that fixes it, go with a different antivirus program (I can personally vouch for Avast!, been using it for years) AVG has a bad habit of interfering with the launcher, even when its disabled. -
My Technic Launcher is Not Working :(
Electrobrandino replied to St.Kempy's question in Technic Launcher
This is directly from AVG's site The AVG software protects your computer on multiple levels. In case you need to disable all AVG components at once please follow the steps below: Open the AVG Program. On the Tools menu, click Advanced settings. Click Temporarily disable AVG protection in the menu on the left side. Select the Temporarily disable AVG protection check box, and then click OK. Choose how long you want the protection to be disabled and whether to disable the Firewall as well, and then clickDisable real-time protection. If that doesn't work, i believe you can also just right click on the AVG icon in the system tray (down in the bottom by the clock) and disable it from there. -
My Technic Launcher is Not Working :(
Electrobrandino replied to St.Kempy's question in Technic Launcher
Make sure that your Java is also 64bit, and remove any 32 installation you may have of it. It will cause this issue. Also, if you hit any other snags, disable AVG while you launch the launcher. :)
