  1. what bit version is your windows 7 and your java? If you have a 64bit version of windows, make sure Java is also 64bit. if not, it can cause this very issue.
  2. Now, did i not tell you to flex your muscles and take it somewhere else to test it?! lol
  3. I wont be home long enough to test on my 12.04 machine until tomorrow morning.....if you dont get a resolution by then, I will load it up and try to replicate the issue. Hopefully, someone else that doesnt work 2nd shift can get it taken care of sooner for you though :)
  4. you mentioned 32bit for Java, but is your OS 32 or 64bit? If you have a 64bit OS, remove the 32bit java and get 64bit and should resolve. if thats not the case, let me know :)
  5. Things like this make me appreciate my job 10 fold.......I work for an ISP that is 100% fiber optics.....you have a dedicated line to your home, no shared bandwidth, no caps, and speeds anywhere up to 1Gb down and up. Gotta love it :)
  6. You should be able to go into OPTIONS from the launcher, tick the option for MANUAL BUILD SELECTION, and choose the earlier build in the dropdown above that. I believe this has worked for me in the past.
  7. NP....as soon as i saw your question i remembered that section of the wiki.....that just means I've spent way too much time researching mods....lol
  8. Sure thing. Is your phone Android or Apple? Please say Android....its easier IMO :P
  9. Have fun on your trip! and you are welcome!
  10. Wired connections are always more reliable than a wireless connection. if that is the case, you may try that first
  11. You have to ADD it to the list... click the add server button, and then input your server's ip address. if it is running off of the same machine, you can likely just put 127.0.0.1 (which is local host, i.e., your machine) and that should work. If you want to allow others to connect to the server, and have a router setup, you will need to portforward the appropriate ports through the router, to your machine before they can connect. They would need your EXTERNAL IP address, as they are connecting from outside of your network. if this didnt answer your question, or if you have any questions about it, just ask :)
  12. Straight from the Wiki... Black List Blacklisted items will be consumed in process but won't produce any Scrap. Glass Panes Sticks Snowballs Wooden Plank Covers Scaffolds Any item or block defined by SMP administrator Note: Bedrock is not on the list, meaning that if you spawned bedrock into your inventory, the recycler could essentially be a bedrock breaker of sorts. (Tested)
  13. well there is a couple sure fire ways to tell if it is indeed the internet. 1.) if its a laptop, take it somewhere else and try to connect. (figure you would have tried this by now if that was the case ) 2.) if its a desktop, flex your muscles, and carry it to a buddies house and use his net/monitor/mouse/keyboard (cutting corners lol) and see if it works. 3.) if all else fails tether it with a smartphone and try it that way (i have played like this, so i know it works) if you need tips/suggestions on apps to tether, let me know.
  14. Need to know what bit version your windows is, and the bit version of java (32 or 64bit) If you have 64-bit windows, you need to make sure you are also using 64-bit Java. If you need help finding out what bit version you have for each, let me know and I will assist you with it. I will need to know if you are on windows XP, Vista, or 7 as well.
  15. I am by no means a code junkie, and i understand you are frustrated, so If it is ok with you, i figured we could start brainstorming ideas here....get the creative juices flowing at the very least Now it is my understanding that spoutcraft basically is the connection between the server and client, and in that error log, it is saying that it cannot access any of the mirrors.....Being a PC tech that makes me think that there is a disconnect somewhere between the PC and the main servers (captain obvious, i know )...I know you have disabled your antivirus, and even changed it...but do you have any other programs on the computer that act as protection? a port blocker or anything like that? Malware is another option....you might try Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (free version) and see if it comes back with anything....this one isnt as likely, but at this point, it gives us something to think about... Let me know....just throwing out ideas in the hopes that it may trigger something to bring forth a resolution to your issue. If you want me to just keep my thoughts to myself, let me know lol
  16. Correct me if I am wrong Torezu, but would the 1500mb issue be caused by perhaps a 32bit version of java being installed on a 64bit system? Burn, check to make sure your java is 7u5 or 7u6 and make sure it is the 64bit version.
  17. AWESOME! Glad I could help out!
  18. I would have tested this first, but I'm at work and the machine only has the one HDD.....
  19. I think this could help you How to install the Technic Launcher on a USB Drive Yes, it says usb drive, but it should work on any form of media that is not the primary drive. From what I understand, it stores the appdata folder locally on the media storage, which in this case would be your secondary HDD. NOTE, i havent yet attempted this.
  20. Out of curiosity, did you disable your antivirus program and try it? OP you mentioned AVG is your antivirus program...in the stickied thread of common issues/resolutions, it mentions that AVG is known to flag the files the launcher downloads If I am not mistaken.
  21. Just curious....You stated you have 8Gb of memory, so I am assuming that you are using Win7 64-bit, correct? Are you also using 64-bit Java? You mentioned Java 1.7 above, which seemed odd to me... It is recommended that you run Java 7 (latest update) in 64-bit.
  22. AVG is an Anti-Virus program. Torezu was referring to this sticky I believe... COMMON PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS So if you are having this same issue, I would start here.
