Tekkit and minecraft login then crash

Launcher Version: latest version

Operating System: Windows 7

Java Version: java 7

Antivirus Program: AVG

Description of Problem:

When i login to my tekkit account it doesn't show the mojang screen just a white screen, then closes giving a note pad error ( ask if needed ) about java runtime.

Ive tried getting rid of the bin file and re-installing the lancher, the same problem occurs with my normal minecraft, same error

AVG might be your problem. I'm not sure though as it is usually only an issue when downloading the pack. Try disabling it and seeing if that fixes it.

Thanks for replying quickly, ive tried disabling the linkscanner then tried running both tekkit and minecraft nethier worked :(

Post a launcher log, then. Usually it's AVG, but something else may be wrong.

Don't threadjack - it's not nice.

OP: See if you have a launcher log. That Java error looks like it originates with a video card .dll, so you could also try updating your video drivers.
