What MOTD plugin works to enable Rei's Minimap features?

I tried installing the 1.2.5 forge plugin from Rei's official forum page, but the server won't start. I added commandbook but it doesn't seem to load. Doesn't even show up when I do a /plugins command. Loading realmotd doesn't work either, since for some reason it's always superbugged and spells out the colors instead of actually displaying things in color.

Anyone else get this up and running?

edit: nevermind. For some reason the default way to color things in realmotd's config file wasn't working. the test info displayed stuff like "yellowhello greyplayername". When I deleted that crap and added this it worked.
