Turn off creepers and help with connection please

Hi

I was just wondering if there was anyway to turn off creepers?

Also i am having problems with other people connecting to my server.

i am able to connect fine with my local ip, but others are not able to see my server when i give them my external ip.

i have portforwarded my router and my computer has a static ip. i have not changed the server files at all.

can anyone help with this?

1) I believe worldguard or worldguard can stop creepers.

2) I never thought I'd say it, but try Hamachi.
