Launchers shows overlay, then freezes

Java Version: Latest

Antivirus Program: Norton by Symatic

Description of Problem:

So I go and get the latest version of Technic Launcher, and start it up. It comes up with the "Downloading Launcher" window, then the "Technic launcher" overlay comes up. I wait a while, but the overlay is still there, and it shows no sign of doing anything. I can't close it, and I have to log off and then log back on to get rid of it.

I'm having the same problem, only thing I figured out was how to get rid of the overlay. go into task manager, processes, then find and click on java then click end process. Sorry, sorry I know that doesn't help at all really but at least you can get rid of the overlay now.

If you haven't tries disabling Norton while running the launcher, do that. It's been known to interfere with the launcher's downloading ability.
