Screen turning on and off but only with the tekkit launcher and other problems too

Description of Problem:

i have just started playing minecraft and jumped on to my bro's server but im experiencing a few issues

1st issue when playing only online i get a black screen then normla then black again time between can vary from a few mins to 1 second or less im certain it is monitor but i turn minecraft off it is ok

2nd issue

when i want to play to use lets say a mod where i can use diffrent itmes like lava etc i have to have a reduced screen to be able to play when i put it in full mode and press E it removes everything and nothing works but reduce it back down and eveything is there again

please any ideas on this

monitor is a 22 inch samsung

run by hdmi into the white port outlet on the monitor

it is doing my head in big time now

I think this is an issue for the Tekkit Bug Topic, this is for Launcher bugs (if you can get past the Launcher screen it is a modpack bug)
