"Technic Launcher Updater has stopped working"

Description of Problem:

When attempting to use the .exe version of the Technic Launcher, it immediately crashes with Windows' "Technic Launcher Updater has stopped working; Windows is checking for a solution to the problem" error message. I've tried deleting the .technicpack folder and starting fresh, I've tried reinstalling Java (both 32-bit and 64-bit), I've tried disabling my antivirus, and I've tried running the .exe as an administrator (although my UAC is currently disabled anyway). The straight .jar works insofar as I can login, download Minecraft and mods, and actually play, but I'd really like the .exe to work for purposes of tying it to chat programs, Steam, screen capture, etc. which won't work properly with just a .jar.

Unfortunately I think that you will need to use the jar until the issue is fixed. I am not sure what is causing it but there are alot of people who are having the issue. In the log it says that you don't have Java 64 bit (or your comp is not 64 bit I can never remember which that one is refering to) try getting that and seeing if it fixes it.
