Tekkit launches then whitescreens

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Professional 64 bit

Java Version: Java 32bit

Antivirus Program: Norton

Description of Problem:

The launcher open and when i login to Tekkit it gets to the mojang screen and whitescreens no error messages or anything. i tried re-installing but now when i try to re-download it says failed to update.

... The issue is even in your own bug report! You have 32bit Java and a 64bit OS. Get 64bit Java.
