Description of Problem:

I'm trying to log onto a friend's Tekkit server. When I do, I get an error message "Connection Lost Internal Error: Java.Lang.NullPointerException" This happens ONLY on SMP, single player works fine with no errors. I have tried everything I can think of (admittedly not much, I don't know much about computers), namely repeatedly completely deleting and reinstalling Minecraft and Tekkit, moving folders to new locations, and several other web-suggested fixes. Nothing has worked, and I am still getting the error message. I should mention that the server appears normally in the connection window and that the error appears to occur immediately after or during logging in; Minecraft shows "Logging in" but then goes to the error message before the world appears. The only option from the error is to return to the main screen.

I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, this is my first time on this forum, and I don;t know enough about computers to say if this is a bug or something else. I've pasted the entire error report below for the same reason: I'm not sure which bits (if any) are relevant. Thank you to anyone who can help me get this resolved.

I can't be sure but maybe it's a problem with the server and not with your client? Can you join any other Tekkit servers?

Otherwise, the only thing I can make out of that error log is this:

That sound like incompatibility with IronChests and a plugin for Forestry. I don't know if you have any custom mods or not but I know of a mod called ID resolver that fixes stuff like that.

Actually, I can't find the class denoflionsx in any of the Tekkit jars so it looks like the server admin installed some of the plugins here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1253666-132forgeplugins-for-forestry/

that part of your error log shows what is causing it, you have two or more items that have duplicate block IDs in use

to fix it just modify the config files of any new mods to use open ids and the problem should be fixed

EDIT: from what i have seen when you get bootted with that error it means that one of the items with a duplicate ID is in your inventory, you can delete your character info off the server to fix it but you loose all your items. or you can have them track down the item(s) causing the issue, i once had it happen with a wooden axe
