Not Enough items issue?

Hello everyone

Firstly a huge thanks to all involved with the launcher, love it!

I have loaded the game up and started a new world but on my inventory screen none of the stuff on the left side is visible. I can see the list of items and the options button but none of the save slots or little buttons at the top. I cannot spawn items in either.

I thought i might have screwed up the settings so i deleted the options.txt and this reverted all the stuff i had changed but didnt fix NEI.

Anybody else got this problem or not got this problem and/or know how i can fix this!

i searched for Not enough items but obviosuly NEI would be better! Would it make sense to have this as an obvious stickied FAQ on the issues area?
