Overflooded quarry crashes server

Question

Title: Overflooded quarry crashes server

Version: 3.1.2

OS: Windows 7 64 bit

Java Version: Java 7

Description of Problem:

I left a quarry running overnight with a world anchor nearby, and now I'm unable to go near my house, without it crashing the server because the quarry overflooded, and the whole piping is filled with items.

I managed to get down to my quarry and remove some of the piping, and thereby making some of the items fall out, and hopefully despawn, but it's still not quite enough.

Not sure if a bug, but I'd love to get a solution.

this is why buildcraft is bad. it's not a bug, per-se. you will need some kind of plugin like worldguard or nolagg (I think) to remove the entities. or MCedit would work too I suppose. they aren't going to despawn on their own, because they crash the server when loaded, and they can't go away when the chunk isn't loaded.

That's exactly what I was thinking of.

I'll try check out some of those plugins, and see what I can do.

Will a world anchor be able to despawn the items if they're outside the pipes, and no one else nearby?

Use lava on the ground to kill the items. Leave the lava there for several chunk loads.

The problem is, I'm not able to even load the chunk without crashing the server. Not anymore atleast. It immediately just crashes.

On forehand, thanks alot.

you'd have to place the lava with MCedit or similar is what he was getting at, I think.

Ah of course, didn't quite get that one.

But I still have the issue with items being stuck in the piping.

And will the world anchor be enough to update the lava and remove the items?

Thanks alot.

Also, does MCedit work with Tekkit? My guess is that it doesn't work with all the new mod items.
