Title: Problem connecting to server (client side?)

Version: 3.1.2

OS: Windows 7

Java Version: 1.7.0_02 (Java 7 Update 9)

Description of Problem:

I have this server which I regularly go on, but for some reason yesterday I started getting "Connection lost Internal client error: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect" (as seen in the image below) I also have a friend on the server and he is not getting this problem and there is a usual amount of people on the server. Does anyone have a solution to my problem?

I have tried reinstalling tekkit, I have reisnstalled the tekkit launcher folder in .techniclauncher and after the lengthy troubleshooting I have not gotten any further to a solution.

Error Messages:

Connection Lost Internal client error: java.net.ConnectionException: Connection timed out: connect

I am getting the same, I have reinstalled everything again. I uninstalled java, Tekkit and everything else. When I reinstall Tekkit I get the "Update Fail: message, I go to the fix and install it, then I get stuck on the "logging in..." screen, after a few minutes I either get the error above or the "End of Stream" error.

It was working perfect for me yesterday and now nothing, no matter what I do, I can't connect to a server.

Single player is no problem and yep I also restarted my router and checked my firewall

Yeah, Lenlenny thats what mine does it doesnt repsond when doing logging in.... then that =/ and ubique I had similar issues when reinstalling then pretty much resulted in the same error all over again. The only other thing I could add to this which could be completely irrelevant but it was working then I took a break and updated my Minecraft (normal version on normal client) to 1.4.2 then when I went back later this annoying error message started. I wouldnt even have a remote idea how or why it could cause it but it is a minor thing which could come into play in this ( not 100% sure)

Ok GUYS I have a fix. This worked for me, please make me feel warm and fuzzy by posting back here if it works for you

The Fix

I remembered that I had hte same problem when 1.3 came out, here's the solution:

1) Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

2) Copy the file "hosts" to where ever you like, it's just temporary

3) Open the file with notepad and remove any line with Minecraft in it

4) Save and close the file and put it back in the etc folder and overwrite the old one

5) Have fun playing Minecraft again
