It's a bug with your client the Advanced wooden pipes works for me.

My suggestion is to re-install your tekkit client. Because I know sometimes that the tekkit client downloaded "Screws" up. It happened to me once when it didn't download everything and couldn't join a single server because it skipped a few mods. But try to re-install your client simply by just going into your Appdata and remove the .techniclauncher and then re-open the tekkit client and re-install it.

If that, for some reason, doesn't work you should update or re-install your Java.

I had the same issue. 64-bit java, windows 7.

placed the advanced pipe, right clicked it, then minecraft gave me the dirt filled screen. Was then unable to access the sever.

In order to get back on, all i had to do was restart the server (I'm running it from my computer)

Afterwards i was able to remove(not right-click!) the pipe w/o any trouble.

Not gonna touch those until the next update!

Edit: actually, i'm running build 0.5.4.9. I think this might make a difference in results (not at all sure)

I'm having similar problem, when I try to access the adv. wooden pipe gui while on the server my whole game crashes. I'm running my own server and it usually gives me an error message on there, but lately it has just been saying that my connection timed out.

I'm using Windows 7 and I have java 1.7 installed. The server is version 2.1.1, and I have not made any real changes to the server options.

If it makes any difference I imported my server world from Tekkit 2.0.

Its client side. The fix is pretty simple:

1 - Remove the pipe that is causing you to crash

2 - Exit minecraft

3 - Navigate to C:\Users\youruserfolder\AppData\Roaming\.techniclauncher\tekkit\config\railcraft

4 - Open railcraft.cfg with a text editing program

5 - Find the line that contains: net.gui.utility.feed.station=108

6 - Edit that line to say net.gui.utility.feed.station=125

7 - Save

You should be able to now place a new pipe and access the menu.

Wow! Thanks! The instructions worked to the mark!

But does anyone else think that it's a little weird for the feed-station to influence a pipe?

I've done this, and it worked beautifully until I discovered I couldn't access the RedPower Sorter GUI. Is this the same for anyone else?

Yep, I got the same. Looking in the redpower config, it uses 125 in the netgui, too.

Rather than taking the time to find the next available screen, I took the "nuke it" approach and just removed railcraft from my (personal) server and client.

Well, I'm going to play with it this week. If I come up with a set of cooperative values for the configs, I'll edit this post.

Since this guy never replied: I use id 250 and have not found any problems SO FAR
