update failed on voxel an vanilla

duketom

Question

Launcher Version: 1.0.2

Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit build 7601

Java Version: 1.7.0_09-b5 64-bit

Antivirus Program: Eset Smart Security 5.2.9.12

Description of Problem:

When downloading minecraft.jar from voxelmodpack or vanilla it fails to do so.

My guess is that a wrong url slipped in the code.

Error Messages:

and indeed my expectation is confirmed the url from where the voxelmod patch is comming gives a 404 error

http://206.217.207.1/Technic/Patches/Minecraft/minecraft_1.4.2-1.3.2.patch

EDIT 19:03-31/10/12:

However this does not seem to apply for the vanilla

EDIT 19:10-31/10/12:

http://s3.amazonaws.com/MinecraftDownload/minecraft.jar?user=http://s3.amazonaws.com/MinecraftDownload/[email protected]&ticket=deprecated&ticket=1

seems to be legit and working and the TCP stream seems to be intact

EDIT 21:28-31/10/12:

so i save the stream as a .jar and it works. i do not see any reason why it would give this error seeing the fact that it is a good download.

i also checked the .jar in the temp folder and that's a good one as well.

and the checksums seem to match.

anyone any ideas ?

You could report your post  but that would probably be ill advised...

It would, so why did you advise it?

i thought so but this forum mainly consist out of user errors and this post reports a bug how can i be sure an admin reads this ?

The best way would be to PM an admin or mod. Then be patient. I'll get this to the admins.
