Thanks for the reply, Yeah I removed the 'technic launcher' folder and restarted tekkit and tried using the linux version(jar) . All this occurred either when I upgraded to 12GB of ram or when I installed eclipse + java JDK. I did both within a similar timeframe.

I am having a similar issue where I have to launch the launcher twice and I tried the linux method above which seamed to work great but then it started to crash randomly after about a week:( what makes mine more crazy is that the first time I bring a world up It says I am out of ram but the 2nd time it comes up just fine...just my luck. Maybe I will try Lukes idea as well

Not sure if this is relevant any longer, but you can go into terminal and type:

cd desktop (enter)

export JAVA_HOME=/System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents/Home

java -jar technic-launcher-latest.jar (enter)

make sure techninc launcher is named and technic-launcher-latest.jar from the terminal entrance are the same. and make sure you're techinc launcher is on your desktop.
