Driver crash after few seconds

Launcher/pack Version: Tekkit v 2.1.1

Operating System: Windows 7 64 bit ( regularly updated )

Version of Java: v7 64 bit ( the recommended one on site )

Hi,

my problem with Tekkit is that when I join a world, my graphics card driver seems to fail after 1-20 secs.

The screen freezes for 5 secs then it says something like "Driver got restored after failure" (i have german windows, dont know what exactly it would say)

and Tekkit freezes and can only be terminated by the Taskmanager.

I got the newest drivers for my card, Catalyst 12.3 ( card is HD5970, not OCed ), memory is 8GB KingstonHyperX which seems to work fine.

I used AVG, uninstalled it, same crash.

I tried Java versions 6 and 7 with 32 and 64 bit, i did a format c: thingy with new windows installation, same crash.

Spout and Vanilla launchers work fine, also no errors for other 3D applications like SC2 or Witcher2.

No problem, it only took me like 2 min to find that snipit btw. i would recommend reading the logs very carefully.

Hi again,

I downloaded "for 1.1.x r10 with Weapon Interactions expansion" from minecraftforum.net and overrited the files with the zip and everything works fine now.

Maybe theres something wrong with the downloader?

I had a similar issue with Technic SSP, disabling MAtmos fixed it, by the looks.

Could a mod please sticky/put this in the common problems and solutions topic? I saw quite a few people having the same problem.

Edit: It worked this far, now its crashing again even though MAtmos is still disabled.
