Nether & World Anchors

Hi, quick question.

I was going to make a quarry in the nether, but was wondering if I put a world anchor next to it, will the quarry still operate if I leave the nether? Also I'm not playing Tekkit on a server.

In single player only the world that you are in currently is loaded, evn with chunkloaders etc
