Server does not work properly. lag?

Hi,

I was trying to create a tekkit server, but I am having some issues.

It seems like everything is ok, and when a friend of mine connect we can see each other running around without any lag.

But when we are trying to mine anything the block disappears for a split second, but then it reappears on the same place and nothing has been out into the inventory.

Occasionally everything is working as excpected (we are able to mine) but mostly it is just as described above.

We have tried to switch host (we are hosting on our respectively local hard drive) but still the same problem.

Orignial Minecraft works without any problems.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

Are you trying to build in the spawn area?

Oh, so thats what it was.

Thought there wasn't any restrictions if I created the world by myself, started playing minecraft just yesterday.

If you want to be able to build/dig there, op yourself and your friend with the /op command
