In the latest version of tekkit there's no danger of reactors exploding. Only 'Fusion reactor' from "Atomic science" if not sealed can result in plasma leakage which then melts down anything it touches, so be careful with those.

Not just the latest version, a lot of old ones as well. (in old Tekkit they could explode, but not anymore)
