Any known fix for teleport pipe's crashing servers on a loop?

Moving my quarry today, I accidentally put 2 teleport pipes next to each other causing a loop in my system which proceeded to immediately crash the server. We tried rebooting to no avail, it immedialy threw an exception in pipePowertransport.requestEnergy();

There didn't seem to be a way to delete the offending chunk at all, so we had to disable the mods altogether, which had the unfortunate side effect of deleting everything Tekkit, essentially setting us back to square one.

We have the latest tekkit server build. Is there anyway to fix this if it happens? Is there a patch out or something? It's pretty annoying that we now lost everything because of a misclick on a pipe...why is there no safeguard in place for that?
