Cant start packs

Description of Problem:

Can't start anything except the technical modpacks(tekkit, technic) in the launcher, when I try to start something else it says update failed

The thing that says COMMON PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS at the top of the bug section. It tells you how to find your log.
