Minecraft.jar: Download Failed

Emyi

Question

Launcher Version: 1.0.1.3

Operating System: Windows 7 SP1

Java Version: Java 6 Build 37 (Have had this build for weeks and has worked up till yesterday)

Antivirus Program: AVG (Yes, it is disabled)

Description of Problem:

Upon starting up the Technic Launcher, I attempt to log in (and download) Tekkit, as I do regularly. However, it cannot and will not download Minecraft.jar (assuming it is 1.4.5 issue). It will attempt this three times before it says "Download Failed"

Error Messages:

Download Failed!

I have the same issue on a new installation this morning. I think the key is:

[08:25:35] [sEVERE] Downloaded 'minecraft.jar' does not matche MD5 of any known minecraft version!

1.4.5 was released this morning, and I don't know how techniclauncher works or how it goes about looking for the 1.2 binary, but I gather that might be what sparked this problem.

This is what I figured. Updated to Java 7. Same issue.

As you stated, technic launcher has a funky way of going about binaries. Apparently it downloads the latest and uses a downgrade add on instead of grabbing the associated binary from minecraft.net. I know you can get 1.2.5 from assets.minecraft.net/1_2_5/minecraft.jar but even when you add it to the tekkit bin folder, it does not recognize it and continues to try and download the latest .jar, which the launcher does not recognize.
