Title: tekkit server enderchest error can't load chest inventories

Version: 3.1.2

OS: Windows 7 home premium (x64)

Java Version: java jdk1.7/jre7 (x64)

Description of Problem:

When loading up the server after a computer crash the enderchests inventories got corrupted and all the fixes I have found so far still don't work. I have deleted my enderchest inventories, I have removed the mod from the server and also restored from backup however nothing has worked.

I'm having a similar problem and i'm about to go into MCEdit and delete the ender chest, I guess i'll let you know if it works.

what was the nature of the computer crash?

have you tried reinstalling java, any time something is running and a full crash happens you can get coruption and it is possible that java itself is causing the problem

Hey guys sorry for the late reply been a bit busy.

What happened was that my computer went to sleep one day and I couldn't wake it up (known but irrelevant problem) so I had to force restart it with the button and when I rebooted poof error appears on server. I can't recall if the server was on at the time of restart but probably. I haven't tried reinstalling java because it's a bitch to get working on a 64bit system but if that's what needs doing I'll do it.

Yes to both of these questions. I have both tried use another world and use a clean new version of the tekkit server however both results in the same error.

have you tried fully uninstalling and reinstallling java? as i said earlier if it was running when your computer went down it could have become damaged

After reinstalling java which took 2 hours to complete I get exactly the same error which come with all worlds not just this one, all server versions 3.1.2 AND 3.1.3 I am fully concluding this is a tekkit problem and would highly appreciate it if an official could have a look into this problem of the tekkit server because all fixes that people have found haven't worked for me.

has the solution to that exact error and problem, data corruption

most likely due to your computer crashing, if you are still unable to run the server after full reinstalls then you may want to make sure the windows filesystem is fully intact and make sure nothing else has become corrupted or damaged

as a note, if you have any programs running when a comptuer crashes then you run the risk of data coruption and lose

if you suddenly turn off the computer while it is running you can cause physical damage to the HD and cause data corruption and lose

you may want to find the cause of the crash if it is an on going thing

Thank you for your swift however little bit rude reply, I have searched it google and in fact that was my first stop for 2 weeks and looked through google and I found this guide on one of my first searches. And as I stated all fixes I have found in haven't worked for me including this one which is one of the first results. No my file system is not corrupt all my files are well and the reason for my crashes are because my graphics card fails to load after sleeping sometimes resulting in a black screen so I have to force restart. Because of this reason I have everything backed up and I don't find it too much of an inconvenience yet. I resulted after 2 weeks of searching for non working solutions to post on this forum to solve this problem.

set up a new server in a new directory and create a new world, if you have the same problem then chances are that it is something with java

and yes i see you said you reinstalled java, you should make sure that you fully removed the old java and verify system variable paths to make sure it is using the newly installed java

other option would be to completly remove the enderchest mod and see if it allows you to load the server

Thank you for your input Magister. Out of the blue today I tried to run my server one last time and it freed up for this error completely. No new directory or world or new java variable paths. However I got another error. This error looks more promising and shorter then the previous one but never less it is an error and needed to be fixed before I can access the server again

Just by all the error fixes I found before I concluded fully just delete the railcraft save right, especially since I haven't started on my train system yet. And bingo it worked. I don't know what happened but it finally works again.

Recap on fixes worth trying

-Delete enderchest inventories

-Delete enderchests with mcedit or otherwise

-Remove enderchest mod from server mods

-Reinstall server software

-Reinstall java
