Can't Place Saplings on dirt in smp

Title: Can't Place Saplings on dirt in smp

OS: Windows 7

Java Version: java 7 update 6 (64-bit)

Description of Problem:

I am trying to make an auto tree farm in SMP but i cannot because it does not let me or the assembler place saplings on dirt. I can place saplings on dirt in SSP but not in SMP. I know this is a stupid problem but i am wonder if anyone is having this same problem and if there is a solution

Check that you're not trying to do this in the spawn area, which is auto protected. Try oping yourself and [Redpower] if you really want to build in the spawn area.
