Looking to setup some ranks on my server. Was point towards permissionsEx. Just a few questions that I hope someone could answer.

Will setting permissions with PermissionsEx change any current playerdata?

I use griefprevention, will adding someone to a rank change anything with their claims and protected lands?

Which version should I be using for tekkit?

No.

Depends, does your "grief prevention" have permission nodes that players need to use the plugin? It shouldn't change it at all either way, but if it needs nodes for some commands you need to be sure to supply them.
