Tekkit Doesn't Launch on Mac

Launcher Version: 1.0.2.0

Operating System: OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2

Java Version: Java 7 Update 9 (1.7.0_09)

Description of Problem:

When I click play, the game window opens for a brief moment then closes with no error. The issue is Java 7 as far as I can tell. The game runs fine on Java 6 on my other computer with the same OS. Java 6 is a bit of a pain to install on new Macs because Apple stopped dealing with Javat after version 6. And the Java control panel doesn't recognize the Apple Java 6 RE.

There is a bug that prevents it from working with Java 6. That is the only way I know of to get it to work on Macs.

step 1) download linux/jar version

step 2) make a folder and put the jar in there

step 3) open terminal through spotlight

step 4) type or copy and paste this code in terminal

cd ~/Desktop/technic/

export JAVA_HOME=/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6/Home

java -jar technic-launcher.jar

step 5) profit

this is the only way i know its easy to do if you put the code on notepad and save it somewhere. the only problem with this is you have to open terminal up every time you want to play.
