Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit

Java Version: 7u10

Antivirus Program: Comodo

Description of Problem:

I tried starting up the launcher as usual, and I get a box saying "checking launcher version" shortly followed by the error. I had it working not 20 minutes previous, with no changes in Java or Comodo or anything. I double checked to ensure my Java was up to date, and still no progress. I know my firewall is configured correctly, as it was working earlier without even touching it, but I did check to ensure this was not the case. I can't even get to the login screen, and I can login to the normal Minecraft launcher from Mojang, so this is not related to their servers. Help would be appreciated, though I might have to go get myself dinner soon, so if I don't give an immediate response I apologize.

Sorry to double post, but I fixed this problem by deleting the launcher.jar and re-running the launcher updater.exe. Apparently it managed to corrupt itself, getting a new copy solved it.

It is never going to be a problem to double post when you fix your own problem and post how you did it. We encourage that.

Has anyone noticed that the url in the error is wrong and sends you to a scam page? This sort of leads me to the conclusion that a java exploit is being used to stall the launcher and insert the error message.

i have try linux/jar file, and they work, so i can play it, but not on the normal way, that he say the error.
