Launcher not working

Before you give me crap about it yes I've looked all over and nothing is working. I can't view the discover page, I can't find mod packs that aren't the default ones, and the news page isn't working either. After checking the log there are numerous java IO errors because there are a ton of files and folders that don't seem to exist that apparently should. Is the installer broken?

You many have a an antivirus or firewall blocking it. Can you disable them to test?

Here's a snippet of the log. I can't upload the whole thing because it's too big, but it mostly repeats itself as I started the client several times.

 It's mostly missing font files it looks like but I did notice on line 417 theres an HTTP error 503. A few more lines down there's another error with a URL. Was the service down earlier or something?

You were spot on I think. Somehow windows defender managed to turn itself on without me ever knowing. Kinda pissed about that, but turning it off solved my problem. Thanks!
