TechnicLauncher.jar Creates Folder

I just downloaded the TechnicLauncher.jar for mac os, when i double click it, it creates a folder. please help

Still hasn't worked it still created a TechnicLauncher Folder even after i downloaded the newest Java JDK

Just to be sure, you ran the installer for Java after you downloaded it, right?

Then try right-clicking the launcher and choose to open with java

I'm having this same problem and have up-to-date Java.  Is Java JDK different?

Oh hey I just found the solution to this problem (check the link below)

Just right-click, click Open With... and find the Jar Launcher under /System/Library/CoreServices/Jar Launcher.app.
