For instance on "The 1.7.10 Pack", from a fresh install of the Tekkit Launcher:
Search for 1.7.10 Pack and then click it
Click the "Modpack Options" gear icon.
Change to a specific version that is not the latest version.
There is no save button, so click the "X" to close the dialog.
Go back into "Modpack Options"
Notice the version did NOT stick and has reverted back to the latest version.
The only way around this is to install the pack using the "latest" version, change the version to the one you wanted in the first place and then click reinstall.
These packs are huge, so having to download and install it twice in order to get on a specific version is very annoying and potentially costly to people with metered internet connections.
"Why don't you use the latest version?"
This is not about me, this is about all the people that use the MOD pack. They and their friends have already installed and have been using what used to be a the latest version and don't want to upgrade for whatever reason, since it's working fine. Furthermore, newest is often not the best. Mods break or cause other issues when updated, causing the need for a pack hotfix, which means another 300+MB download to install. (If it aint broke, don't fix it.)
