Are there any systems similar to Buildcraft Pipes

Put simply, I'm wondering if there are any blocks or anything that can take items out of furnaces etc., move them and insert them into other blocks. I know that conveyor belts can move items but as far as I know they cant take items out of blocks or insert them so that alone wont work.

You can use the manipulators to pull/insert items but they have to be powered and receive a pulse to pull items
