Yeah tried updating manually and it really messed up my world, either update and start a new world or wait. for now I use energy tablets as there not too expensive and hold a good amount of charge.

I've found plenty of silver, you just have to look carefully as the texture is very similar to smooth stone

You can use the manipulators to pull/insert items but they have to be powered and receive a pulse to pull items

You need to be a bit more specific as to what you are doing, when and how often the server is up and any other details like that. But I wouldn't mind joining a tiny server.
