Trying to get friends to connect

Hi, I'm an old Tekkit Server owner, just trying to switch to the new Tekkit Lite. I have a port forwarded to my personal computer and I am trying to get a player outside of my router to connect to me. I have my external IP and the user has tried that. I have the server IP set in the config files set to the same ip as both my own computer and the port I forwarded. I can connect from within my router (over LAN), but cannot set the server so others can connect. Any ideas?

Remove the ip you added in the config, that is for something else, Don't ever add the server ip in the config or it will mess up

And the "External ip address" is the address you want to give to your friends

if you ported with 25565 add ":25565" to the end
