Termination on Start up

So when I start up the Technic pack launcher for the client side of the server, it shows the "checking launcher version," screen, it immediately stops. I'm not sure if it matters, but I use Windows 7.

i have the same problem i start the lancher and only (downloading) or (checking) appears nothing else i use win7 and java 7 update 2 >

Mine works and downloads a .jar in a new .techniclauncher folder but then says "Can't find java directory" and exits :(
