"Unable to authenticate account with minecraft.net" issue.

Yesterday my friends started up a Tekkit Classic server and I had absolutely NO issues connecting to it last night. But this morning when I go to log on it says "Unable to authenticate account with minecraft.net". "This is strange" I'm thinking, I figure the Minecraft servers must be down. So I go on my friend's TeamSpeak channel and lo and behold, they are all on the server having fun without me. So that crosses out the problem of the servers being down. Now, meanwhile my sister is also on the server with no issues. So I assume it is an issue with my computer. I've tried disabling my firewall to no effect. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've been trying to fix this issue for three hours.

I currently have the same problem.

I started up my server last night and was playing in excess of 3-4 hours, come this morning i am unable to log in with the play offline option.

I proceeded to delete my .techniclauncher file, Now i get the Unable to authenticate my account with minecraft.net

I cannot connect to normal minecraft either D:

I seem to have found a strange fix for this issue, at least it works.

Try setting your computer clock back one day then connect.
