Is "Tekkit Classic" propper if trying to duplicate Yogscast?

I am watching Yogscast Tekkit. I want to play what they're playing.

Is Tekkit Classic what I'm looking for? I was a little turned off, confused, etc., when I learned that it uses an older Minecraft to run. Should I be running something else?

You should really play Tekkit Lite. All of the mods add a lot of new features in the move to 1.4. If you really want to play 1.2.5 though, than classic is the way to go.
